Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This policy explains what personal data StudyFinland ("we", "us") collects, why, how we use and share it, and the rights you have. By using this site or submitting the guide-request form, you agree to this policy.
1. What we collect
- Contact details & study preferences you give us — your email address, first name, and optional details such as country of origin, study level, field of interest, intake, budget range, and timeline. You provide these when you request the free guide or contact us.
- Usage & device data — pages visited, referrer, approximate location, browser/device type, and how you arrived (UTM parameters), collected via analytics and cookies.
2. How we use it
To send you the guide and related emails you opt into, to understand and improve the site, to match you with relevant universities and partners, and to comply with our legal obligations. We rely on your consent (for marketing and partner sharing) and our legitimate interest (for analytics and site security) as the legal bases for processing.
3. Sharing with partner agencies
StudyFinland is funded in part by partnerships with study-abroad agencies and student services. If you give explicit consent, we may share your details (such as email, country, study level, and field of interest) with one or more vetted partner agencies so they can contact you about your application. This sharing is consent-based: it only happens if you tick the relevant box, you can decline and still get the guide, and you can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Partners are required to handle your data lawfully and use it only to assist you.
4. Cookies, advertising & affiliate links
We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. We display ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve and measure ads; Google and its partners may use your data per their own policies. The site also contains affiliate links — see our Affiliate Disclosure. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of personalised Google ads via Google's Ads Settings.
5. Retention
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. If you unsubscribe and ask for erasure, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain it for legal reasons.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@studyfinlandguide.com.
